KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Abby Abadi is now divorced with "talak satu" from husband Muhammad Noor Farhan Che Bakar after the Gombak Timur Syariah Lower Court here confirmed the divorce utterance he made to her through a short messaging service last May 9.

Syariah judge Shaiful Azli Jamaludin made the decision after studying documents and hearing the testimonies from both parties.

He said the court was satisfied that the divorce utterance by Muhammad Noor Farhan met the conditions and requirements of Section 57 of the Islamic Family Law (State of Selangor) Enactment 2003.

On the first divorce utterance by Muhammad Noor Farhan, which he sent through a SMS to a friend in January 2014, Shaiful Azli said it was invalid and did not meet the 'talak' (divorce) condition.

Earlier, Muhammad Noor Farhan told the court that he had no intention of leaving Abby when he made the divorce utterance the first time.

However, the second divorce utterance was made in a conscious state of mind and with intention to do so, he added.

This is the second divorce for Abby, whose real name is Arbaeyah Abdul Manan, 37.

Abby and Muhammad Nor Farhan got married in South Thailand on July 9 after a two-week acquaintance and registered the marriage in Kelantan.

Before her second marriage, Abby was married to actor Norman Hakim and were blessed with three children.

The marriage ended with a divorce in the same court on Dec 18, 2008. -- BERNAMA
