PETALING JAYA: Some 30 youths from the Sepang PKR Youth wing gathered at the party headquarters here last night to voice their support for PKR deputy president Azmin Ali.

A representative from the group, Azmi Roslan, maintained that they were not there to protest against or provoke anyone.

"We are here to express our support for Azmin, who is defending his position as the party's deputy in the PKR polls."

The gathering began about 9pm and the crowd dispersed after midnight.

However, the group, many of whom appeared to be in their teens, had earlier heckled Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim when he left the party headquarters after attending a meeting with PKR's political bureau.

Khalid did not respond to the heckling.

Azmin is currently leading the party polls, with Khalid trailing as first runner-up.
