Monsteristi with a need for the ultimate need not fear; the Monster SP is here. The Monster range has been expanded by the Borgo Panigale marque with the new all-singing, all-dancing SP.

Designed to further the capabilities of the Monster, already a fun and sporty mount, the SP takes the formula to the extreme. The mixture remains the same as the original Miguel Galuzzi 1993 Monster, though.

The heart of the SP is the Testastretta 11°, a liquid-cooled 937 cc 4-valve twin with 111 hp @ 9,250 rpm and 93 Nm of torque @ 6,500 rpm and equipped with Ducati's ubiquitious desmodromic valve actuation. The frontal chassis member is inspired by Panigale V4, an extremely light and compact aluminium frame fixed directly to the front cylinder head.

The SP's livery incorporates the 2022 colours of the Ducati Lenovo Team's Desmosedici GP. The red seat (840 mm seat height) trimming is integrated with the waspy tail in the side view and the Monster SP logo is also inspired by the Panigale V4's graphics.

The fully adjustable 43 mm Öhlins NIX30 front fork and rear Ohlins shock (fully adjustable, naturally) are equipped with sportier calibration than other Monsters, which improves the dynamic qualities of the Monster SP when riding on mixed roads or on a track.

The braking system is also upgraded with Brembo Stylema calipers and aluminium flanges for the 320 mm front brake discs (0.5 kg lighter than the Monster equipment) reduces inertia and improves braking at the front. The Termignoni 2 into 2 exhaust is standard equipment.

The adoption of a lithium-ion battery, (a 2 kg weight loss) offsets the addition of components such as the steering damper and the windshield. Weight is now 186 kg ready to ride, making it the lightest Monster ever.

The damper improves stability under acceleration and cornering, aided by the original equipment Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres.

A general recalibration of all the Riding Modes and therefore of all the electronic controls, make the most of the changes made to the chassis, while an additional new Wet Riding Mode offers greater safety on wet surfaces.

The standard electronic suite includes ABS Cornering, Ducati Traction Control, Launch Control, Quickshift and Ducati Wheelie Control, all adjustable to various levels of intervention.

The Sport, Touring and Wet Riding Modes are all managed via the handlebar controls and displayed on the 4.3-inch colour TFT dashboard, featuring racing graphics that echo those of the Panigale V4, with a large rev counter and a complete set of information on the left, including that of the gear engaged.
