AFTER a three-year hiatus, Swiss Dream Circus is making a big comeback in Malaysia with brand new casts and shows that will blow your mind.

Setting up their big top in Mutiara Damansara, the circus, which started on June 28, will be running until July 23, 2023.

There will be 11 freshly-curated performances during the two-hour show by 18 skilled circus entertainers from around the world.

Swiss Dream Circus' founder and producer, Marco Baumgartner said this year would be more thrilling due to the debut of its most recent light display, which incorporates both LED dancing performances and laser technology.

"A mix crew from Russia and Ukraine will also be there; they'll be an inspiration to us all," he said, adding that this proves that there is no war in the circus.

He added that there will be a variety of shows including knife throwing and arrow acts, bike act, aerial straps act, juggler, entertaining clown and many more.

Other acts include award-winning aerial performance by Janine and Fabien from Switzerland, ladder balance act and Rola Rola act by Andriy Ruhylo from Ukraine as well as the entertaining Clown Andre from Switzerland.

"Since we debuted our first circus in Malaysia in 2014, we have regularly released new, hand-selected performances for Malaysian fans," said Baumgartner, adding that they will be selecting different casts and creating new shows to ensure fans won't get bored over the years.

When asked about the challenges of returning to Malaysia after the long break caused by the pandemic, Baumgartner said that the biggest difficulty was that the production team had to start from scratch because there had been so many changes.

He added that the change of location was also a setback because the new location is on regular land as opposed to the previous one, which was tarmac at Desa Park City. However, he said that they have made proper pathways and make sure the venue is safe for visitors.

"Despite the difficulties, we managed to get through them, and now we're back entertaining our fans in Malaysia once more." he said.
