TOURISM Australia has recently launched a new global tourism campaign inviting international travellers to Come and Say G'day by planning their own unforgettable Australian adventures.

In conjunction with the campaign, Tourism Australia has created a live-action short film with CGI animated characters - a plush souvenir kangaroo named Ruby which is voiced by beloved Australian actor Rose Byrne and a toy unicorn, Louie voiced by actor Will Arnett.

Directed by acclaimed Australian director, Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman), G'day the short film shows the unlikely adventure of Ruby and Louie as they "break out" of a gift shop.

They then go on an incredible adventure around Australia, visiting iconic sites as well as  connecting with the indigenous cultures.

The short movie features Australian states and territories including the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, and Western Australia.

Tourism Australia South & South East Asia (SSEA) regional general manager Brent Anderson said G'day marks an exciting new chapter in telling the story of Australia to the world.

"SSEA markets have been critical to Australia's recovery this year, and I'm really excited to reveal our new campaign to inspire even more regional visitors to explore Australia.

"Through Ruby and Louie's adventures, we hope travellers can build new authentic connections with friendly Australian locals and communities, as well as the incredible nature, wildlife, islands and beaches, and enjoy the delicious food and drink," he says.

Check out these five iconic locations that Ruby and Louie visited in G'day to inspire your next visit.

GREAT BARRIER REEF

Kicking off their adventure, the two characters meet at a souvenir store on the Great Barrier Reef, in the east coast of Queensland.

The first stop on Ruby and Louie's whirlwind journey is a 45-minute ferry ride from Cairns/Gimuy and is a must for anyone already heading to or planning a trip to the Great Barrier Reef.

Tourists can explore the crystal waters on a Sailaway tour to see sea turtles and countless other marine animals, before relaxing at the luxurious Green Island Resort.

While there, they wander around the island, which supports a thriving ecosystem packed full of nature, home to over 134 species of plants.

SYDNEY HARBOUR

There's something special about seeing the iconic Sydney Opera House and Harbour

Bridge together for the first (or hundredth!) time.

The combination of the glittering water and the cosmopolitan bustle is something inherently unique to Sydney/Warrane.

Stop by the Opera House for a guided tour or climb the Harbour Bridge to see Sydney/Warrane from a truly unforgettable perspective.

Then, you can take road trip from Sydney/Warrane to Melbourne/Narrm which is one of the best ways to see what Australia's East Coast has to offer.

Whether you choose a stunning coastal road trip to see places like the fabulous Jervis Bay or the magical town of Tilba, or an inland adventure exploring towns like Bowral, Wagga Wagga, or Ballarat, you're guaranteed to find magnificent national parks, idyllic country towns, and fresh

produce.

If you take the coastal route, be sure to follow the route Ruby and Louie take in G'day and take in the beauty of the Sea Cliff Bridge in the Illawarra region, roughly an hour and a half south of Sydney/Warrane.

MELBOURNE LANEWAY

Known to the local Wurundjeri people as 'birrarung' or river of mists and shadows, the Yarra River has long been central to the region's life, with much of Melbourne/Narrm's cultural, sporting and business goings-on now taking place on the banks of the river.

In G'day, Ruby and Louie grab a coffee at nearby Degraves Street, which is the perfect place to get a taste of Australia's famed coffee culture.

Grab a coffee from the nearby Duke's Coffee Roasters or head to Pidapipó to try some of the most creative gelato this side of the equator, before marvelling at Melbourne's breathtaking skyline.

Melbourne/Narrm is the place to be for any of your late night dancing fancies, so don't forget your dancing shoes!

NITMILUK GORGE

Heading to the Northern Territory next, the pair takes an adventure along the awe-inspiring Nitmiluk Gorge and its breathtaking rivers, walled by colossal red cliffs.

Nitmiluk Gorge is only a 30-minute drive from Katherine (three and a half hours drive from

Darwin/Gulumerrdgen) on a sealed, all-weather road.

Raging waterfalls, spectacular wildlife, amazing views… take it all in on a canoeing trip down the Gorge.

ULURU

No holiday to Australia would be complete without a trip to the Red Centre to see Uluṟu and Kata Tjuṯa.

Simply breathtaking to behold, the 500 million year old sandstone monoliths are deeply spiritual to the local Anangu People who have lived in the Country for over 22,000 years.

Experience these natural wonders and their surroundings up close with guided tours around Uluṟu or a variety of AAT Kings Northern Territory adventures. Given Uluru's remoteness, it's recommended that travellers fly into one of the two airports in the Red Centre (Ayers Rock Airport or Alice Springs Airport) and arrange a hire a car or private tour from their arrival destination.
