KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran comedian Azlee Jaafar, 57, of Senario has been warded at the National Heart Institute (IJN), Jalan Tun Razak here since yesterday.
His close friend and former Senario member Saiful Azam Yusoff or Saiful Apek said in an interview with Berita Harian today that Azlee was rushed to Sungai Buloh Hospital last night after fainting at home.
"He was then transferred to IJN for further treatment," said Saiful Apek.
Saiful Apek added that Azlee's fellow Senario member Mazlan Ahmad or Lan Pet Pet, and former member Yassin Yahya paid him a visit at IJN.
"Lan and Yassin told me that Azlee is conscious and resting at IJN," said Saiful Apek, adding that Azlee had always been in good health.
"Nevertheless, he does suffer from gout and is undergoing treatment for it."
Saiful Apek said that Azlee and his fellow Senario members were supposed to visit Kelantan today for a meet and greet session and stage show presented by a perfume company.
"I wish to call on all Senario fans to pray for Azlee's speedy recovery," said Saiful Apek.
