KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Zarina Zainuddin has issued an apology for posting a photo of a social media user who recently insulted her appearance.

Zarina said she posted the apology on Instagram (IG) after being advised by her husband, Datuk Seri Dr. Abdul Raihan Wan Jaafar, and their children.

"I uploaded a photo of a woman who criticized my face on IG. However, my husband advised me to apologize because I shouldn't have done that.

"I am just an ordinary person with feelings. When people insult me, I lose my spirit," said Zarina.

She said the decision to post the picture was driven by stress due to constant criticism about the changes to her nose and lips.

"People keep claiming that I looked better before I had work done on my nose and lips. They keep saying the same thing.

"Some say I look older now. Of course, I am already 54 years old, my body is thinner, and my face has become smaller.

"I have already explained that I had surgery to address the sinus issues that I am suffering from. My lips only have fillers, which will dissolve on their own and disappear over time because the techniques now are different from before," she said.

Zarina finds it regrettable that many others undergo similar treatments but do not face the same criticism.

"It makes me sad when people insult me for having sinus surgery because I suffer from migraines and vertigo.

"Don't you have any feelings? I'm not even pretty; if I were, I would have been a heroine in a film," she added.
