"I was actually kicked out," said Fendy Adlun, drummer of Caliph Buskers on his exit from the award-winning band.

The 33-year-old musician, who had been a member of Caliph Buskers for the past decade, surprised many when he shared the news in a recent post on Facebook.

According to him, the group, which comprises blind musicians, had not been receiving offers to perform lately. As such, he then gave suggestions that did not sit well with the other members.

"I requested a change in management and to find an experienced manager to help Caliph Buskers.

"This proposal was seen as drastic and harsh. Maybe that's what made the other members disagree with me. So I was kicked out.

"There is one individual in this group who didn't want me. He said that for the advancement of Caliph Buskers, I had to leave," he said in a 'Harian Metro' report.

Fendy added that he willingly left on that note but there was no denying that he felt sad about the matter.

"It's sad to remember that we rose from the bottom. From the days of street busking to entering 'Anugerah Juara Lagu' and doing a show in Singapore.

"There is also a sense of resentment and pain when I remember all my mistakes, including the old ones that were mentioned by that person.

"May my absence help advance Caliph Buskers and push them further forward. Hopefully, without me their problems will be solved."

Fendy said, on the other hand, he is now free to work as a freelance drummer.

"Anyone who wants to invite me to play the drums or who wants to form a band can call me.

"I need to find work to continue living with my only child, Nur Azalea Zafirah, 9, who is also visually impaired.

"I don't mind joining a normal band or an OKU (persons with disabilities) one. But there are no OKU bands in the mainstream music industry except for Caliph Buskers.

"I want to try working with a normal band. Maybe it will be a new experience for me in my career," he said.

In another news report, vocalist Azmi said Fendy was not in agreement with the rest of the group members which led to his departure.

He had sent a message via WhatsApp to all the members to find out if everyone was still interested to be active members of Caliph Buskers since they had no job offers for a long time.

"We had discussed on the direction of the group with the others agreeing to find a solution to make Caliph Buskers great again.

"Fendy was not in agreement with us and wanted to just leave it as it is. He said: 'If there's jobs then ok, if not then its all right'. So Fendy couldn't commit and we decided to bench him.

"What I said is what all the rest already know but no one wanted to voice it out. So it looks like I don't like him because I said it but if the rest didn't agree with this they would have sided with him," said Azmi.
