KUALA LUMPUR: Former journalist of TV3's Melodi programme, Muhammad Zamzuri Zaini or Ayau, died this morning while waiting for the body of his mother-in-law. He was 50.

His ex-wife, Alita Aris, said that Ayau, who was at the Al Muhajideen Mosque in Damansara Utama, had a heart attack and was rushed to the KPJ Damansara Hospital.

"Muhamad Zamzuri Zaini passed away at around 10 this morning. Ayau was at the Al Mujahideen Mosque, Damansara Utama, waiting for my mother's body to be prayed for when he suddenly fainted, and was believed to have had a heart attack.

"We took him to KPJ Damansara Hospital, and doctors tried to save him for about 20 minutes, but failed.

"Doctors believe Ayau's heart had already stopped when he was at the mosque," she said in a Harian Metro report.

She added that his body would be taken to the Nurul Hidayah Mosque, Kampung Pandan to be prayed for before being buried at the Bukit Permai Islamic Cemetery, Ampang.

However, Alita, who was still arranging her mother's funeral could not provide any other details.
