KUALA LUMPUR: Rock band Search's guitarist, Nordin Mohd Taib, also known as Din, has pledged to explain the dispute among the former bandmates concerning the sale of the album 'Rockology Search: Kid'Din Collection'.

His response follows accusations by former bandmate and rock legend Datuk Suhaimi Abdul Rahman, or Amy Search, who accused Din and his brother, Kid, of withholding sales proceeds that should have been distributed as royalties to their bandmates.

Din assured that he would address the matter promptly, following the band's concert next month.

"I will clarify everything after the 'Search Gemuruh Concert' at Zepp Kuala Lumpur on June 29."

He also criticised Amy's accusations as baseless.

"That's completely untrue. Their claims are unfounded. Therefore, based on legal advice, we will hold a press conference.

"I will address all the issues raised and present evidence relevant to the matter," he told 'Berita Harian'.

Previously, Amy had lashed out at his former bandmates Noordin (Din) and Kid for "robbing" his bandmates of what is rightfully theirs.

There have been two rival Search lineups since 2021: the first comprising Amy, guitarists Hillary Ang and Man Kidal and bassist Nasir, and the second comprising Din and Kid.

In an interview with 'Harian Metro', Amy expressed regret that Din and Kid failed to pay royalties to his team and the family of Search's late drummer Yazit, who died in 2019.

He said Din and Kid were supposed to pay royalties to Hillary, Man, Nasir, Yazit's family and himself from the sales of their album, 'Rockology Search: Kid'Din Collection'.
