KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Lana Nodin confirmed she was suffering from an intestinal infection which may have resulted from food poisoning.

In an Instagram post yesterday, the 45-year-old artiste said she had been having a stomach ache since four days ago and the situation had gotten worse in the morning.

"The doctor confirmed that I had a bacterial infection in my intestines. That's what caused my intestines to swell.

"Maybe that's why I've had a stomach ache for the past four days. This morning I couldn't stand it anymore and asked to be taken to the hospital.

"The doctor told me the infection probably stemmed from something I ate that was not good for me or food poisoning. I was given antibiotics.

"I apologise to everyone who called. I was unable to answer your calls because I was sick at the time," she said.

Lana, whose full name is Mazlina Hasan Nordin, asked for people to pray for her speedy recovery and to be able to return home quickly to her children.

She added: "Thank you to all the fellow artistes who had asked about my condition."

Previously, Lana's manager, Jamal Salleh, had got the shock of his life when contacted by the actress who was crying in pain and asking to be taken to the hospital yesterday morning.
