FOLLOWING the success of their previous duet, 'Jarak', Aisha Retno, and talented Brunei-born artiste Aziz Harun have teamed up once again for the celebratory track, 'Ketipak Ketipung Raya'.

Composed by the two, with production assistance from Romeo and Glowrush, the collaboration unfolded as a spontaneous project.

Aziz initially wanted to create a song for the festive season, aiming to share it on social media, particularly TikTok.

After 'Jarak', he approached Aisha to aid in crafting this new song, which she readily accepted.

The duo crafted the track and released it on social media.

They were taken aback by the overwhelming response, particularly on TikTok, and decided to record and refine the song properly to launch it in time for Aidilfitri.

When asked about the significance of the song, both artistes described its message as refreshingly simple — it revolves around the preparations for celebrating Hari Raya.

Aisha elaborated that the song encapsulates common themes found in many other celebratory tunes.

It vividly depicts the bustling preparations on the morning of Hari Raya, referencing mundane yet essential tasks such as buying clothes and ensuring the readiness of festive delicacies.

Furthermore, the song captures the essence of a joyous celebration, that transcends differences in status and generation.

To infuse the song with a traditional touch, Aisha incorporated the lively and rhythmic beat of joget, adding to its intrigue.

Despite the spontaneity of its creation, the recording process went smoothly, with minimal obstacles.

Both artistes were pleased with the final product.

"The recording process was incredibly swift. My management facilitated a meeting with Aisha and our producer, Glowrush, and within just a few hours, we had it all wrapped up.

"Each of us required only three hours for the vocal recording session in the studio."

"I distinctly recall that it took place on a Sunday, and the song was nearly completed.

"We only needed to finalise the bridge and the second verse since the initial part of the song had already been shared on social media last year," said Aziz.

The duo expressed their delight in collaborating once more and were grateful for their seamless compatibility.

"Aziz is incredibly talented and our mutual passion for music has fostered a strong bond between us.

"Given his impressive track record and unwavering dedication, I have complete confidence in collaborating with him again.

"I've longed for an anthem of my own and now with this duet, I believe it has the potential to become a cherished addition to our collection of duets," said Aisha.

The accompanying music video, shot in a single take, adds another layer to the song's narrative.

"The music video features the staff of Aziz's record label, Faithful Music.

"The atmosphere was relaxed and it was an enjoyable experience. This marked our first time shooting a music video in one take, with minimal retakes needed," said Aisha.

Aziz added: "We sincerely hope that those who have been eagerly anticipating this song since last year will find satisfaction in the work we've done."

"Our aspiration is for it to stand as a timeless anthem.

"Crafting this song was a joyous endeavour for us, and we're hopeful that listeners will derive as much pleasure from experiencing it as we did from creating it," he said.

"We've incorporated vibrant joget beats as a homage to its roots," said Aisha.

"Purposefully infusing it with energy, we've breathed new life into the song, making it more appealing.

"I earnestly hope you all will embrace and enjoy our musical offering," she added.

'Ketipak Ketipung Raya' is available on various music platforms and the music video can be viewed on YouTube.
