IN conjunction with Hari Raya, Fly FM has crafted a medley of Malaysia's iconic Raya songs in a video titled 'The History of Malaysian Raya Songs'.
The video features Fly FM announcer Ryan Matjeraie and local girl group DOLLA, who bring to life a humorous one-take style video inspired by the themes of well-loved Raya songs.
'The History of Malaysian Raya Songs' is a follow up to a Fly FM series. The first video in 2023, 'The History of Malaysian Hip Hop', featured Sonaone alongside Ryan, with cameo appearances from local hip hop artists Reshmonu and Altimet.
According to Fly FM content director Sean Matjeraie, the idea behind the series was to blend nostalgia with the present.
"For Hari Raya this year, we were excited to work with DOLLA as a feature in our medley, and looked to create a way to portray both nostalgia and current music in our celebration of Raya Songs, and just a tiny bit of hilarity," he said.
The Raya medley features cameos like the Fly FM Jokers Arieff Yong and Ryan Howlett, singer Ellina Razak, who co-wrote 'Suasana Hari Raya' with Anuar Zain, and a particularly special surprise appearance at the end by Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza.
