KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran composer Ross Ariffin's homeless days are over as he has finally moved into his new house.

The 62-year-old recently received a Muhibbah People's Housing Project (PPR) unit in the federal capital from City Hall.

"Thank God I have finally got a roof over my head after three years of homelessness. This will go a long way in getting me to make great music once more," said Ross in an interview with Harian Metro Online yesterday.

"This is the happiest day of my life."

Ross' plight was highlighted on social media early this year and came to the attention of Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.

Fahmi subsequently met Ross and helped him obtain a PPR home.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Dr Zaliha Mustafa also helped Ross obtain his PPR unit.

Ross has composed songs for Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, Datuk Aishah Ariffin, Jaclyn Victor, Ning Baizura and Fauziah Latiff among others.

His best-known songs include Dia by Fauziah, Kemaafan Dendam Yang Teindah by Aishah and Kau Dan Aku by Ning.

Kau Dan Aku won the Pop Rock category of Anugerah Juara Lagu 1995.
