FUNNYMEN Jack Lim and Wee Meng Chee, or Namewee, go back a long way.

They have known each other for a decade, and team up for charitable events whenever they are not on film sets.

This Chinese New Year, Lim and Wee are co-starring for the first time in a Texas Poker comedy 'All In', which Lim and Matt Lai co-produce and co-direct.

"Wee and I have co-starred in three movies. He had cameos in my 'Ah Beng The Movie: Three Wishes' and 'Ah Beng The Movie: Mission Impossible' while I had a cameo in his 'Banglasia'," said Lim in a recent interview.

Lim added that 'All In' has nothing to do with casinos even though Texas Poker is a card game.

"Our players do not lose money in the game but merely win a grand prize," he said.

'All In' features actors and actresses from Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Besides Lim and Wee, Malaysia is represented by Yumi Wong, Xiao Yi and Yuan Teng, and they are joined by Hong Kong actor Phillip Keong and Singaporean actor Wang Lei.

Lim said: "I play Cheng Jialang, a gifted player who is able to detect whether people are truthful or otherwise.

"If Jialang sees a blue aura around a person, that person is honest. On the other hand, dishonest persons have red auras around them."

However, there is one person who has a black aura around him, and he is the five-time Asian Texas Poker champion Wei Yifu played by Keong.

"Jialang is challenged to play against Yifu, even though it is an uphill battle for him as he is unable to detect the Asian champion's motives," said Lim.

It is here that Jialang finds an apprentice to play on his behalf, and he is a waiter named Huang Xiaoqi, played by Wee.

"Jialang bumps into Xiaoqi by accident, and Jialang's special powers are transferred to Xiaoqi.

"Even though Xiaoqi now has special powers, he does not know how to play the game and this is where Jialang has to coach him.

"Xiaoqi has certain skills which his mentor does not possess, which come in handy for both of them to defeat Yifu," said Lim.

The 100-minute film was shot around the Klang Valley, especially in Kuala Lumpur, last year.

The film, which opened on Feb 8, has dialogue in Hokkien, Cantonese and Mandarin plus a little English and Malay.

The film is produced by Asia Tropical Films, The Film Engine and Elepfilm Entertainment.
