KUALA LUMPUR: On March 2 and 3, the Supalapa Festival is making its debut in Malaysia with 49 local international artistes.

Headlined by Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna and Dutch dance music legend Tiesto, the inaugural festival will be held at Resorts World Awana in Genting Highlands.

The other major names at the festival include The Kid Laroi, EAJ, Somi, XG, Ali Gatie, Armani White, Tones And I, Ian Asher, Keemokazi, Paul Van Dyk, Rave Republic and Ckay, plus local acts Saixse, Kidd Santhe, Talitha, Claudia, Belle Sisoski, Jovynn, Forceparkbois, DJ Ziqq and Axel Groove.

Visitors will be able to enjoy three different music genres namely electronic dance music, pop and K-Pop on three different stages.

The event's organiser Maestro Production And Prodigy 1 Nation's head Parthiban Murugaiya said in a recent news report that he hoped the Supalapa Festival would become a benchmark for future Malaysian festivals.

"The Supalapa Festival will help promote Malaysia to foreign tourists and help make us an entertainment hub of international standards.

"It will also become a great platform for local musicians to showcase their talents with their international counterparts," he said.

Festival director Addam Al Maleq said: "This is going to be a music festival like never before, with a non-stop fun and exciting musical experience for everyone."
