KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Syafie Naswip married model and actress Nur Afiqah Ishak in Dewan Wilqadry, Putrajaya here today.
Syafie's Instagram account featured a live broadcast of the solemnisation ceremony at about 11.04am. It was an intimate gathering attended by close family, friends and acquaintances.
In the modest ceremony, Syafie, whose real name is Muhammad Syafie Naswip, 31, handed over the dowry of RM300 and officially became Nur Afiqah's husband with a single pronouncement.
After the solemnisation, he was visibly emotional, shedding tears while reciting the taklik, which is the marriage agreement made by the husband according to Syariah law.
Both Syafie and Nur Afiqah were clad in white bridal attire.
The live stream's comment section on Syafie's IG attracted more than 1,500 viewers who congratulated them on their marriage.
Yesterday, Syafie shared that he would make a special announcement on his IG this morning.
An individual known as Pawi, who handled the live stream on Syafie's Instagram, said their acquaintance began during a film shoot several years ago.
Pawi also mentioned that the wedding had been planned since last year.
