KUALA LUMPUR: After creating a traditional poem for their Indonesia tour, the British rock band Coldplay brought the poetic experience to Malaysia last night.

Lead singer Chris Martin read the poem in Malay to the ecstatic audience,

"Pergi kedai membeli sayur,

Masak tomyam bersama bonda,

Coldplay sekarang di Kuala Lumpur,

Payung lagu favourite anda."

But Martin's special treat for Malaysian fans did not end there.

Despite performing in the rain for the entire show, the band took it a step further by singing a two-minute song about the beauty of Malaysian rain.

"I have been to Europe, I have been to Spain, but there is nothing quite as beautiful as the Malaysian rain. Whenever I am down, whenever I am in pain, I love to stand in Malaysian rain," he sang.

Fans erupted in euphoria and were impressed by how well-prepared the band was to interact with the audience.

The much-anticipated concert mesmerised over 75,000 concertgoers at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil last night with their astounding performance.

After making their debut in 1997, Coldplay finally had their first concert in Malaysia, which took place 26 years later.

A total of 26 songs were performed, including popular tracks from past and latest albums.

Coldplay's two-hour concert, which began at 9pm, ended just before 11pm.
