KUALA LUMPUR: Popular Indonesian rock band Dewa 19 showcased a different side to their live music by having a 54-piece orchestra play along during the group's concert at Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil, here yesterday.

But its handsome drummer Tyo Nugros managed to steal the hearts of many female fans in the over 7,000-strong audience once again, as the long-standing band performed its solid 3-hour 'Dewa 19: A Night At The Orchestra – Chapter 5 Live In Malaysia' concert.

It seemed that age was only a number for the 53-year-old beat maker, whose real name is Satyo Nugroho, as he still sported youthful features akin to a K-pop idol which raised temperatures in the arena.

Fans cheered and screamed hysterically whenever his face was featured on the two jumbo screens that flanked the main stage, which almost drowned out the music itself.

Some enthusiastic fans in the vicinity could be heard screaming 'helok' (Malay slang for gorgeous).

Even Dewa 19's frontman Ahmad Dhani and vocalists, Ari Lasso, Virzha and Ello, could not compete in eliciting such a rabid reaction from the fans.

Last year, Tyo went viral due to his attractive features when the band performed at the same venue for two nights during its '30 Years, 30 Cities, 30 Songs: The Anniversary Tour – 30 Years of Dewa 19' concert in September.

Organised by Icon Entertainment, last night's show saw Dewa 19 perform over 30 of their hit songs accompanied by a Malaysian orchestra and choir led by Indonesian conductor, Guntur Nur Puspito.

The concert by the rock outfit from Surabaya which formed in 1986 also featured special guest performances by three popular local artistes, namely Jaclyn Victor, Shila Amzah and Amir Masdi.

Dewa 19 fans, dubbed Baladewa and Baladewi, were treated to a long string of well-known tunes that included Pupus, Roman Picisan, Elang, Arjuna, Kangen, Risalah Cinta, Dua Sejoli, Kirana, Pangeran Cinta and many more.
