KUALA LUMPUR: The Communications and Digital Ministry (KKD) via Kumpulan MyCreative Ventures has introduced the 2023 Irama Perpaduan Digital Content Fund in support of music practitioners to produce works that contain patriotic elements.
Through an allocation of RM500,000, 10 music production companies have been selected to create songs from various genres in conjunction with the upcoming Merdeka and Malaysia Day celebrations in line with the theme of Malaysia MADANI: Tekad Perpaduan Penuhi Harapan.
According to a news report yesterday, Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said that each company has received a grant of RM50,000 in order to produce a patriotic song from any genre after going through a screening process.
"We received 53 applications from across the nation but only 10 were shortlisted after a stringent screening process.
"They consist of musicians from Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Sabah and Sarawak. Each recipient has been greenlit for grants up to RM50,000.
"Congratulations to all of the recipients," he said during a recent KKD event organised by MyCreative Ventures in Putrajaya, here.
Fahmi hopes that the grant will inspire a sense of unity and love for the country, aside from further stimulating the local music industry.
"My hope is for this continuous effort through MyCreative Ventures to result in more arts and music practitioners producing quality works that also feature a strong patriotic spirit," he said.
The recipients were Daqmie Music Factory for the song Dirgahayu Negaraku, Faithmen Holdings Sdn Bhd (Suara Moden Malaysia), Kaban Music Production (KMP) Sdn Bhd (Lagu Patriotik Hari Malaysia), Itos Cottage Music (Aku Kibarkan Panji) and Shoreline Resources (Kita Kekal).
The rest were S Nazri Kausar Production (Projek Single Lagu Baharu Patriotik/Kenegaraan Malaysiaku Gemilang-Apiz Paschya), Mosaic Music Events with Dennis (The Glory), Little Forte Music (Malaysia Madani - Tanah Airku), Red Velvet Music (War Cry) and RR Entertainment (Irama Perpaduan Malaysia Madani).
