KUALA LUMPUR: Actress, producer and entrepreneur Serina Redzuawan has lost custody of her 12-year-old daughter Isabella Saffiya O'Luanaigh to her former husband Gavin Edward O'Luanaigh.
The 39-year-old daughter of celebrity chef Datuk Redzuawan Ismail or Chef Wan previously obtained custody of Isabella while Gavin or Salahudin Ghafar, 46, was granted custody of their son Tristan Tareef O'Luanaigh, 13, by the Shah Alam Syariah High Court in 2020.
Gavin's syarie lawyer Datuk Zainul Rijal Abu Bakar said in a recent news report that the court reached its decision after interviewing Isabella.
"Even though the court granted custody of Isabella to Serina, she did not get her daughter to stay with her. As a result, the court decided to grant Salahudin custody of both of their children," said Zainul, adding that Serina was granted the right to visit her children every two weeks.
Gavin filed a claim to obtain custody of Isabella last Thursday. Serina and Gavin were married from Jan 1, 2010 to Aug 1, 2017.
