KUALA LUMPUR: Longstanding Cantopop singer-songwriter Sam Hui will be serenading fans at the Arena of Stars in Resorts World Genting, Pahang on Feb 4.

The 74-year-old Hong Kong artiste, who is also a musician, record producer and actor, was last in Malaysia four years ago.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Hui entertained fans in an online concert. He was seen performing on the rooftop of the Harbour City shopping complex at the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront.

Featuring the Victoria Harbour skyline as a beautiful backdrop, the show was organised to raise funds for former employees of the sound engineering company, Tom Lee Engineering Ltd, who lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 shutdown.

Hui, who became famous for his music during the 1970s is considered by some to be the first major superstar of Cantopop, and has been dubbed the God of Song.

His upcoming concert at Resorts World Genting is organised by Aco Media and Meta Live World.

Tickets, priced from RM288 to RM1,088, will go on sale from tomorrow (Jan 4) onwards at 11am.
