KUALA LUMPUR: South Korean alternative hip-hop trio Epik High will be holding its first concert in Malaysia at Zepp KL here on Dec 2.

The group has already performed in Singapore, Melbourne, Sydney, Bangkok and Jakarta and will be heading to the Philippines, Malaysia and Taiwan as part of the Asian leg of its Epik High Is Here tour.

The KL concert which kicks off at 8pm is presented by CK Star Entertainment and fans can expect to rave to the emotive hip-hop track Born Hater or the universally loved hit Happen Ending, as well as the classic chart-topper Fly.

Along with the characteristically playful antics of the forever young-at-heart man band, fans can be assured of a night to remember like no other.

This new tour marks the trio's debut concert in Malaysia in conjunction with the release of its critically acclaimed 10th studio album, Epik High Is Here, which is split in two parts, namely Epik High is Here 上 (Part 1)  and Epik High Is Here 下 (Part 2).

The split of the album was intentional, mirroring the way traditional Korean novels were released in two parts giving time to take a break and process what audiences have consumed before moving on to the next.

According to a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, the message behind this latest release is that Epik High is here even when you think no one is willing to listen.

This album shares wisdom that only comes from the experience of 20 years of lows and some pretty epic highs.

Made up of Tablo, Mithra Jin and DJ Tukutz, Epik High debuted in 2003. The trio's singular blend of hip-hop and sharp lyrics, which openly discuss themes like mental health and social issues, turned them into one of the most pivotal groups in Korean music. Throughout their twenty years together, they released hundreds of anthemic songs, inspired artistes like BTS and was the first Korean act to ever play at Coachella in 2016.

Tickets to the Epik High Is Here - Kuala Lumpur concert are priced at RM798 (VIP), RM498 (Early Entry), RM398 (Standard Entry) and RM4000 (Box). Prices shown excludes processing fees.
