KUALA LUMPUR: Local military action-drama Air Force The Movie: Selagi Bernyawa continues to collect big money at the box office by raking in RM20 million after 11 days of screenings in cinemas.

The good news was announced in an Instagram entry by the movie's producer Multimedia Entertainment yesterday.

It read: "Thank you, Malaysia! #AirForceTheMovie has reached RM20 million in box office collections in 11 days! We are very touched by the strong support from all of you."

Air Force The Movie: Selagi Bernyawa follows the gripping story of a Paskau (the Royal Malaysian Air Force's special operations force) team tasked with protecting humanitarians serving in the fictional war-torn country of Namburi.

After their plane gets shot down by militants, the survivors which include three civilians are trapped in dangerous territory.

Back in Malaysia, upon discovery of the news, the air force prepares to mount a daring rescue while the survivors have to fight for their lives to make it to the rendezvous point.

Air Force The Movie: Selagi Bernyawa, which has been screening simultaneously in Singapore and Brunei since Aug 25, stars Aiman Hakim Ridza, Datuk Adi Putra, Nas-T, Sara Ali, Pablo Amirul, Johan As'ari, Luqman Hafidz, Anas Ridzuan, Iman Corinne, Jack Tan, Azira Syafinaz, Scha Alyahya, Carmen Soo and more.

Directed by Zulkarnain Azhar and Frank See, the epic movie is presented by the Malaysian Armed Forces and the Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) together with five production companies, namely Multimedia Entertainment, Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC), Astro, FXHammer Films and SixFun Media.

Meanwhile, Zulkarnain hopes that movie fans in the country as well as in the region will continue to support the movie.

"If possible, we would like to target a bigger and higher collection," he said in a Harian Metro report yesterday.

Zulkarnain added: "A lot of people are watching this movie because it highlights TUDM. I hope that the people's appreciation will be elevated after watching this movie."

"I'm not brave enough to say that it might reach or have a similar collection as Mat Kilau since that was their rezeki.

"But for now, this is the rezeki of Air Force The Movie: Selagi Bernyawa," he said.

Air Force The Movie: Selagi Bernyawa will also be screened in South Korea, Japan and Taiwan.
