KUALA LUMPUR: South Korean singer Han Byul has chosen Malaysia to expand his career despite having fans worldwide.

The talented star who was crowned champion of Big Stage 2019 said that he was initially preparing to become a K-Pop artiste when he fell in love with Malaysia.

"I started my career 10 years ago and I was undergoing preparations to be introduced as a member of the K-Pop group Led Apple by a record company in South Korea.

"But after trying my luck in the Big Stage 2019 competition, my journey took a different turn and now Malaysia has become my second home.

"Although I have fans all over the world, my heart remains with fans in Malaysia," he said in a news report today.

After going quiet for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Han Byul has released a new single composed by Hazama and Omar K, titled Bukan Milikmu.

"Actually, the idea behind this song came about while Hazama and I were filming a telemovie last May.

"He had expressed his intention to do a collaboration on a song and after listening to a few demos, my heart was set on Bukan Milikmu," he said.

Han Byul added that the song had already been recorded last year but the pandemic pushed back any plans for an earlier release.

"The song did not take long to record, only an hour, while the mixing and mastering process took about two weeks.

"Bukan Milikmu is a sad song that tells of the longing of a man for the person he loves who means the world to him but the feeling is poisoned by all sorts of hurtful emotions.

"The theatrical ballad is filled with musical elements and an arrangement akin to K-Drama OSTs that will certainly move listeners," he said.

Bukan Milikmu is available for download from iTunes or as a ringtone via various local telecommunications service providers.

The new song can also be streamed online through Joox, KKBox, Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music and YouTube Music.
