KUALA LUMPUR: Versatile artiste Datuk AC Mizal is back in action as the head of his own television station, SUKE TV.

The actor, singer, comedian and television host whose real name is Datuk Mizal Zaini said that he "refused to give up" after his radio station Peace Yall FM closed, after operating for four years, in 2019.

"Failing does not deter me from coming back. It was unfortunate that Peace Yall FM didn't work, but then I tried again by forming a television station so here I am," he said during an interview with Berita Harian Online today.

AC, 50, who has close to three decades' experience as an artiste, said that SUKE TV combined entertainment and online commerce and was supported by Malaysia Debt Ventures Bhd (MDV).

"I'm very thankful to MDV for helping me start this new TV station. They've always been supportive of local technology brands over the last 20 years, and SUKE TV is the latest."

AC added that SUKE TV recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation (MRANTI) Nexus, to boost e-commerce.

"SUKE TV and MRANTI will work together to support budding Malaysian entrepreneurs grow their online businesses through innovative practices," he said.

"Our initiative will increase awareness of local products, and bring the online shopping experience to all SUKE TV viewers and their families."

SUKE TV which aims to reach out to 30 million viewers, is the second private television station which involves AC.

Two years ago he was involved in the establishment of Awesome TV but withdrew from it before broadcasting began "due to some problems".

AC launched SUKE TV on Sept 2 last year.
