Armed with history, culture and style, lifestyle coffee brand Nespresso kicks off 2023 with a short film series about the beverage that is synonymous with Italians.

Alongside renowned historian Filippo Cosmelli, blogger-turned-fashion icon Chiara Ferragni stars in the series, exploring Italian cities and their affinity with coffee.

In Rome, they visit iconic locations, including Antico Caffè Greco where they enjoy a Roma espresso and uncover Italian roasting traditions.

In Milan-- the city that gives the taste and notes of the new Milano Intenso coffee—the duo visit historic locations such as Villa Necchi, Palazzo Montedoria and Duomo Cathedral.

The Duomo gold spires and Villa Necchi's bespoke geometric deep green design with gold accents, appear throughout the limited edition collection.

Ferragni's The Blonde Salad blog, which began in 2009, has morphed into a successful platform for her, with collaborations with multiple fashion brands now under her belt.

Included in Forbes's "30 influential people under 30" list in 2015, she is one of the most influential personalities in the fashion industry.

CREATIVITY AND CULTURE

Ferragni says her love of coffee and Italy knows no limits, so she jumped at the chance to collaborate again with Nespresso to co-develop a limited edition range.

"This range is inspired by the creativity and rich culture of Milan, and I am so excited to bring to life such great tasting coffee with beautiful accessories and machine for coffee lovers," she says.

The new Milano Intenso is a balance between jammy fruity notes and a shimmer of spice and "encompasses the elegance, history, and coffee expertise of Italy".

With a classic combination of roasted cereal and cocoa notes, coffee drinkers can expect to get hints of bread and dark chocolate with every sip they take.

Nespresso recommends the coffee sipped as a cappuccino, so it highlights the hints of pepper, berry and fruity notes.

The coffee uses a split roast technique, with the majority being medium roasted, and the minority composed of the Robusta portion and roasted to a very dark degree.

There are also espresso cups and CitiZ coffee machine wrapped in a striking artwork that resembles Villa Necchi Campiglio, launched especially for the occasion.
