TO this day, my husband uses bar soap in the shower and that has somewhat rubbed off on me.

FRENCH MADE
I first bought this brand of soap at a pharmacy in Paris when I went there a few years back. I loved it but I didn't stock up because I mistakenly thought I could get good bar soaps in Malaysia. I was wrong.
The soap brand is here now and the pricing is good too. The argan oil and shea butter soap costs RM19 per bar. The soaps are made in Provence, France, in traditional ways, and packed in simple brown cardboard.
I try the argan oil bar soap and I love it. The scent is subdued and it leaves my skin clean but not dry. The smell is also not overpowering. The size of the soap is just nice for my palm and because it's angular, it doesn't slip off easily.
The soap doesn't turn soft or slippery in the shower, which is super important for me.
The 300g Marseille soap cube is just as good. Made of olive or vegetable oil, it's gentle enough to be used on the face and for children. You can even grate it and wash your delicates with it.
SKINCARE TOO
The brand also has other products aside from soap, ranging from skincare to body care.
I try the Donkey Milk Face Cream and it reminds me of creams women used decades ago, thick and with a distinctive floral scent.
The range is simple and fuss-free. I think the face cream is good enough if you are not looking for any targeted skincare product.
It's quite thick, so you may want to use it at night. It doesn't get absorbed into the skin fast, but I think it does a good job as an overnight moisturiser.
I really hope the brand does good business in this region, so that people like my husband and I, who use bar soap in the shower, have more choices aside from the skin-drying, commercial ones or the high-end, expensive soaps.
