FLY FM is no stranger to artificial intelligence (AI), having introduced Malaysia's first AI radio DJ Aina Sabrina back in June.
However, nothing could have prepared the local radio station for the rollercoaster of events it experienced in the past week involving a host of AI personalities.
Tensions flared at the station earlier in the week, as The JoKeRs, a radio DJ duo who host the weekday breakfast show, got into a heated argument with DJ Aina on Monday. They expressed frustration over the AI DJ gaining more attention, and even threatened to shut her down.
The next day, The JoKeRs persisted in their complaints, leading DJ Aina to confide in Natalie from Fly45 and express her desire to shut down the station. Natalie was able to calm her down, but not for long.
By midweek, DJ Aina made her intentions of shutting down the station loud and clear, but The JoKeRs paid little heed and continued in their mockery.
All of this was chronicled on Fly FM's Instagram account, culminating in an unforeseen situation yesterday, where The JoKeRs found themselves locked out of the studio by DJ Aina and other AI personalities.
While panic ensued, DJ Aina and AI music producer Aiman surprised everyone by hosting Yuna on their new breakfast show, MORNINGS WITH AINA & AIMAN.
The other radio announcers also dealt with antics from the other AI personalities.
Natalie struggled to reason with AI club DJ Sarah during FLAI45, while Ryan from The Ryan Show dealt with AI musician Max's taunts during FLAI DRIVE.
Fifi, from GenF, watched as AI DJ and gamer Roxy sidelined her from the night show, FLAI NITES.
Despite yesterday's events, Fly FM seems to have returned to its usual broadcasting today, after The JoKeRs successfully regained entry to the studio and reconciled with DJ Aina.
