CONTENT creators looking for a small mirrorless camera can now try their hands on the new Fujifilm X-S20.

Like its predecessor, the X-S10, the X-S20 offers a compact and lightweight body and great image quality based on the company's proprietary colour reproduction technology.

In meeting today's users demand, the X-S20 features AI-based subject-detection AF and capability to record 6.2K/30P video.

Besides that, it also uses a new high-capacity battery which enables the camera to take approximately 800 frames and keeps operating for an extended duration of time, making it an ideal travel camera.

"The X-S20 offers premium image quality and advanced portability, catering to a variety of shooting styles ranging from casual self-portraits to fully-fledged photography and videography," said Fujifilm Malaysia's managing director, Kensuke Aragane.

Powering the X-S20 is a back-illuminated 26.1MP sensor X-Trans CMOS 4 and the high-speed image processing engine X-Processor 5 that is able to produce high-quality images.

For easy handling, the X-S20 features X-S Series' signature large grip for hand-holding stability. The compact and lightweight body, weighing just 491 grams makes it comfortable to use even in long-hour shootings.

The camera also features the five-axis in-body image stabilisation (IBIS) mechanism that offers up to 7.0-stop advantage. The AI-based subject-detection AF, capable of detecting animals and cars, adds to its AF performance, equivalent to the fifth-generation X Series camera, the X-T5, for added mobility.

In the video department, the X-S20 supports recording 6.2K/30P 4:2:2 10-bit video internally, and features a 3.5mm microphone / earphone jack for connecting external accessories to conduct fully-fledged video recording. Furthermore, the new Vlog Mode makes it easy to produce a Vlog when the camera is combined with the tripod grip, TG-BT1.

New 8mm prime lens

Besides the X-S20, Fujifilm also launched a new ultra-wide angle prime lens, the Fujinon XF8mmF3.5 R WR.

The lens joins the line-up of XF lenses, interchangeable lenses for the X Series of lightweight and compact mirrorless digital cameras, renowned for their outstanding image quality based on Fujifilm's proprietary color reproduction technology.

The XF8mmF3.5 R WR prime lens offers a focal length of 8mm (equivalent to 12mm in the 35mm film format), the widest among the lineup of Fujifilm's XF lenses. It boasts the viewing angle of 121 degrees diagonally and 112 degrees horizontally.

"The XF8mm F3.5 R WR is an UWA lens with outstanding image-resolving performance, consisting of 12 lens elements in nine groups including three aspherical elements and two ED elements. This lens is perfect for capturing massive information in landscape photography or taking advantage of UWA's unique perspective for a dramatic finish. The lens captures wide expanses of the world in edge-to-edge clarity, thanks to its exceptional image-resolving performance," said Aragane.
