KUALA LUMPUR: A new local startup, Tekkis, today announced the availability of unified payment service on its platform for Malaysian businesses.

Not only focusing on providing a one-stop solution for digital payment called t-Pay, the company also has an accompanying solution which would ensure the safety of its users with identity verification software, t-Verify. Together, they made secured and reliable payment acceptance from multiple payment channels a reality.

"[...] A better verification and payment system is not an end-all, be-all solution - rather, t-Pay and t-Verify are the next best steps in an arms race we have against bad actors in an ever-changing landscape.

"The increasing number of security breaches have proven that better measures are required in order to safeguard the digital growth of Malaysian businesses.

"This is why we believe the next step forward is our solution," said founder and CEO, Joshua Smith at the launching event held here.

Backed by HeiTech Padu Berhad, Tekkis seeks to empower online businesses and SMEs in Malaysia and soon, throughout Southeast Asia to collect payments and onboard verified customers securely and seamlessly through revolutionary integrated processes enabling no-code payment links and embedded identity verification.

Tekkis’ founder and chief executive officer Joshua Smith explains how the platform works at the launch event in Kuala Lumpur.

Currently t-Pay makes payment collections easier with features like Contact List, Payment Link, Payment Form and Recurring Card Payments where businesses can save their favourite individual or group payees, and automatically add them to pre-filled payment forms to avoid multiple verification processes required for different payment channels.

Payment gateways available on Tekkis now accept payments from e-wallets, FPX and credit card. According to Joshua, there are currently three e-wallets, two payment card network processors and all FPX participating banks available on the platform with more to come.

By incorporating Tekkis' Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence technologies, businesses can also ensure customers' legitimacy — differentiate real human transactions with verified identities, as compared to bots or fraud.

With t-Verify, new user acquisitions and conversions can happen around the clock with legitimate identification documents and facial biometric recognition to detect the genuine presence of users through selfie verification. Tekkis' system recognises Malaysia-issued documents such as MyKad, Malaysian passports as well as driving licence.

Further ensuring real users and filtering out frauds, t-Verify has the added benefit of protecting against stolen IDs, impersonation, glare obstruction, and watermarks, while also immediately detecting and preventing user registrations with expired documents.

In addition to these features, verification accuracy on the platform is increased with the expertise of tekkis compliance analysts - the humans who catch the patterns that machine learning may miss.

Fueled by its mission to simplify integration processes, the company aims to continuously update its digital identity verification and online payment solutions for more secure and reliable transactions online.
