KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima Digital's (MPD) esports and gaming portal MyGameOn (MGO) today announced the debut of its Mingguan Esports MGO (MEMGO) variety TV show.

The brand new show, which will premiere on Wednesday, June 3 at 10.30pm on TV9, will feature esports highlights, news and updates over the week based on the top games played in Malaysia.

The show is targeted at both non-gamers and casual gamers, local university students aged 18 to 24, young working adults from 25 to 35 years old, and the local gaming community.

MPD in a statement said it will focus on three segments with championship highlights from different local teams or teams representing the country.

The three segments are as below:

News - All the latest news and reports from team announcements to competitions.

Highlights - Play of the week highlights and tournament highlights.

Interviews - Interviews with local professional players, reputable gamers and experts from the field (winning championships and prepping for international tournaments)

MPD group general manager Nicholas Sagau said this new esports variety show is an initiative to educate, cultivate and provide exposure to the public as well as fans of e-sports.

"Having gaming content on free television will be able to help us reach a wider gaming audience.

"We are extremely proud of MEMGO and are thrilled to bring esports to the next level through television."
