MyGameOn (MGO) made history by winning the coveted Esports Media of the Year Award at the inaugural Malaysia Esports Awards 2023. 

The event, held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) on Jan 27, celebrated the contributions of key players in Malaysia's esports scene.

MGO stood out in the Esports Media of the Year category, which included contenders like WTM Today, Arked MY, Gamers Gazette MY and Esportsmy. 

The local media platform was recognised for its excellence, innovation and significant impact within the competitive esports landscape.

Organised by Alive Asia Events in collaboration with the Youth and Sports Ministry, Malaysia Esports Federation (MESF) and EsportsIntegrated (ESI), the Malaysia Esports Awards featured a panel of 22 esteemed judges, including prominent figures like MasterRamen, Farouq (Flava) and Abang Lord.

Voting for nominations occurred before the event, with the winners determined by the judging panel to ensure a fair and transparent selection process. 

MGO esports journalist and senior content specialist Hazril Md Nor said: "Alhamdulillah, starting out as an esports journalist, I never thought I would come this far. Thanks to everyone in esports who trusted our platform and abilities. Let's keep pushing esports forward for our nation."

REV Media Group's chief executive officer Samuel Wee commented on the win: "We are thrilled and honoured to receive the Esports Media of the Year Award at the Malaysia Esports Awards. This recognition is a testament to our team's dedication to delivering top-notch content and fostering the growth of esports in Malaysia."

The Malaysia Esports Awards also recognised winners in 16 categories, including Esports Team of the Year, Player of the Year (Male) and (Female) and Organisation of the Year. 

Cheng "NothingToSay" Jin Xiang secured three awards, while Natasha "Tashbunny" Hashim received the Esports Host of the Year Award.
