PENANG: Boon Siew Honda introduced the all-new Honda RS-X in the Malaysian market on November 1, featuring a blend of sporty style, innovative technology and great performance.
The debut for this motorcycle was held virtually, complete with special messages from Masayuki Igarashi, chief officer for regional operations (Asia and Oceania), Honda Motor Co., Ltd. and Yoshitaka Nakamura, managing director and CEO of Boon Siew Honda Sdn. Bhd, who hosted the event.
Nakamura expressed his delight whilst unveiling the newly-launched RS-X, hailing it as a watershed moment in Boon Siew Honda's offering to Malaysians.
Artiste Aman RA, Honda's Malaysian Brand Ambassador for Motorcycles, and Zaqhwan Zaidi, rider for Honda Asia-Dream Racing with SHOWA, also attended the launch.
With an aggressive, muscular and mechanical design, a strong 150cc DOHC engine, EURO 4 compliance with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and other hi-tech features, the RS-X evoke its "Super Sports" spirit for a comfortable riding experience.
Some of the highlights of the Honda RS-X include:
- A powerful 150cc DOHC, 6-speed engine for high speed and responsive acceleration
- One-channel ABS for added braking confidence
- Full LED lighting and dual LED headlights for better image and visibility
- Honda seat opener, sealed chain and a fully digital speedometer for added convenience
The RS-X features an aerodynamically built complete cowl, a front face with dual LED headlights and a sleek, slender tail that lends a sporty look to the motorcycle's facade.
The all-LED configuration makes the RS-X more visible on the road and improves visibility when riding in various lighting conditions.
The muffler also produces an engine rev that is pleasing to the ear, giving the RS-X a distinct racing feel.
Its great performance is because of its 150cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine combined with a 6-speed transmission, capable of producing 11.8 kW at 9,000 rpm and a torque of 13.6Nm at 7,000 rpm.
This motorcycle's PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection) allows for significant fuel savings as well.
The RS-X has hi-tech features like the one-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), which help prevent car and motorcycle wheels from locking up and improve steering control whilst braking.
Besides that, the all-new RS-X also comes with convenient features like a Honda seat opener, sealed chain drive and a completely digital speedometer that provides the rider with a wealth of information for a safer and more relaxed riding experience.
This model is also eco-friendly, as it complies with the EURO4 emission regulations.
The all-new Honda RS-X will be available in three colour options: Trico Edition, Candy Caribbean Blue Sea and Lemon Ice Yellow, at all authorised Honda dealers at RM8,688.
