KUALA LUMPUR: UD Trucks Malaysia has launched its largest cab size model, the new Quester heavy-duty truck at the Malaysia Commercial Vehicle Expo 2019.

“New Quester is the truck that can help meet our customers’ requirements and expectations to manage their key business and challenges,” said UD Trucks Hub Malaysia and Oceania managing director Steve Hedouin at the unveiling ceremony.

The key features of the Quester include the ESCOT automated manual transmission, retarder, electrical cab tilt, engines with higher horsepower and user-friendly telematics.

“New Quester introduces key features to deliver even greater productivity, fuel efficiency, uptime, driver comfort and safety,” Hedouin said.

He added that more than 80,000 trucks with ESCOT automated transmission had been delivered since 1995.

“We are humbled by the tremendous confidence and recognition that the Quester line has earned.

“With new Quester, we are positive to carry on this legacy of being the truck brand that our customers want to partner with,” said Hedouin.

According to the company, the ESCOT takes away the need for manual gear shifting, which can happen between 1,000 to 1,500 times a day.

“This enables drivers to easily learn the operations of the new Quester and better focus on driving with ease.” it said, adding that the new Quester was developed with an air suspended cab and ride comfort package with reduced cab vibrations of up to 18 per cent.

“Driver comfort is also enhanced with ergonomic seats and lumber support for long-distance assignments,” it said.

The new Quester is able to reduce fuel consumption by up to 10 per cent, depending on the operating condition, driving behaviour and vehicle maintenance.

“New Quester achieves further enhanced fuel efficiency of up to 10 per cent from the current Quester,” it said.
