KUALA LUMPUR: Kuching has secured the fourth spot on Agoda's list of the most budget-friendly destinations for April and May, according to the digital travel platform.
Agoda noted that Kuching maintains its position as the most economical tourist spot, with an average room rate of RM230, a decrease from last year's average of RM282.
According to the digital travel platform, Kuching is positioned slightly higher in the rankings compared to Iloilo in the Philippines (RM235), Bengaluru in India (RM259), Narita in Japan (RM334), and Kaohsiung in Taiwan (RM475).
Meanwhile, it is placed just beneath Hue in Vietnam, where the average room rate is RM202, Surabaya in Indonesia at RM183, and Udon Thani in Thailand at an average of RM132 per room.
Agoda associate vice president Southeast Asia Enric Casas mentioned that April and May present excellent opportunities for holiday planning, particularly in Asia, as many anticipate upcoming public holidays such as Songkran, Hari Raya, and Golden Week.
