KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) wrapped up 2023 on a positive note with monthly total sales of 10,402 units in December, comprising 10,079 units for Toyota and 323 units for Lexus.

With this tally, the company noted that total year-to-date sales as of December 2023 stood at 108,107 units, up 7.0 per cent year-on-year (YoY) compared to the cumulative sales in 2022, which stood at 101,035 units.

UMWT recorded 1,342,130 returning customers for after-sales services in 2023, showcasing a commitment to customer satisfaction and efficiency in automotive care.

"We persist in our efforts to offer an enriched mobility experience through our Toyota cars and extend access to ownership for potential customers. 

"Our commitment to achieving excellence and fostering innovation in the automotive industry remains unwavering, ensuring the best offerings for our drivers and stakeholders," said president Datuk Ravindran K.

He added Toyota solidified its commitment to support Malaysia's goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, a key milestone articulated in the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR). 

"We have always prioritised maintaining the highest standards and quality in our vehicles, coupled with reinforcing customer satisfaction. 

"As we look forward to 2024, our focus will be on introducing more models, particularly with an emphasis on xEV technologies," he said.
