KUALA LUMPUR:​ The UMW Group has registered total sales of 42,315 vehicles in November, eight per cent higher than the same month in 2022 as both UMW Toyota Motor and associate Perodua, continue to deliver outstanding orders.

Accordingly, UMW's automotive sales increased 16 per cent to 396,820 units year-to-date, from the 341,390 units registered in the same 11 months last year.

UMW Toyota delivered 10,263 units in November, close to the 10,442 unit delivered a year ago.

Year todate, UMW Toyota registered 97,705 units, recording an eight per cent growth compared with the 90,595 units registered in the corresponding period of 2022.

Perodua registered 32,052 units last month, 12 per cent higher compared with the 28,592 units delivered in November 2022.

This was mainly due to the improving supply chain as well as enhancement of production and logistics. 

"YTD, Perodua's sales surged to 299,115 units, 19 per cent higher than the 250,795 units delivered in the same period of 2022," UMW said in a statement.  

For the first 11 months of 2023, Perodua's top selling model was the Bezza, followed by the Axia and Myvi.
