KUALA LUMPUR:  UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd recorded a total sales of 10,275 units comprising 10,033 Toyota vehicles and 242 Lexus models, up from 8,349 units in July. 

UMW said this brought the total year-to-date (YTD) sales to 67,283 units grom 61,639 units in the same period last year. 

"This marks a 9.2 per cent year-on-year rise in year-to-date sales for the first eight months of the year, while the monthly sales achieved in August 2023 rose by 13 per cent year-on-year," it said.

UMW Toyota has strengthened its portfolio offerings with the dual launch of exciting upgrades to the Toyota Corolla lineup. 

The new launch comprised Corolla GR Sport variant with the price starting from RM152,800 and 2023 Corolla IMP (improvement) model with prices that start from RM139,800.

Additionally, the Hilux, Fortuner and Innova range will receive an update in September.

Hilux GR Sport is set to get a power bump to 224PS and 550m of torque, along with installation of tailgate assist as a standard feature for the model, Rogue and 2.3V variants. 

Customers who purchase the Hilux, Fortuner and Innova will now get RFID tags as standard for all variants.

UMW Motor president Datuk Ravindran K. said the company has maintained and strengthened its commitment to meet diverse customer needs through product offering with features that resonate with Malaysian consumers. 

"In this, we are expanding our portfolio with vehicles that enrich the driving experience in every way - exemplified by the newly-launched Corolla GR Sport and 2023 Corolla IMP models, as well as feature updates for our Hilux, Fortuner and Innova range.

"In addition, we are maintaining our programmes that make owning a Toyota more accessible and convenient than ever," he added.
