KUALA LUMPUR: Six Malaysian small companies and startups have made it to the Forbes Asia 100 list issued yesterday. 

Forbes Asia 100 has released a list that highlights small companies and startups that are innovative and caters to underserved markets as well as new technology applications within its product or services. 

Forbes in its article mentioned that the company includes eco-friendly innovation from agro-tech to commerce providers. 

The list comprises companies from 13 countries and territories which break down into 11 categories including biotechnology, healthcare, e-commerce as well as retail and finance. 

Among the Malaysian startups that were part of the list were Aerodyne, BoomGrow, Care Concierge, Involve Asia, Lapasar and PolicyStreet. 

Most Malaysian companies that Forbes Asia have identified are from various categories such as enterprise technology, agriculture, consumer technology, finance as well as e-commerce and retail. 

Among all of the Malaysian companies listed only two companies have raised more than US$20 million in funding namely Aerodyne (US$68 million) and PolicStreet (US$22 million) respectively. 

Forbes Asia stated that Singapore lead the list as the most companies whose companies were named in the list, followed Hong Kong and mainland China.
