KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia continued its upward trend as it closed higher at midday due to investors proceeding with bargain hunting activities. 

FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) gained 3.65 points to 1,443.76 from 1,441.52 at today's open. 

During the early trading session, the key index range from the low of 1442.19 to a high of 1445.73. 

At 12.45pm, on the broader market, gainers led losers 400 to 379, while 420 remained unchanged. 

Other indices flipped from red to green as FBM100 increased by 28.07 points to 10,346.85, FBMEMAS rose by 28.24 points to 10,664.14, FBMHIJRA soared 48.06 points to 11,664.60 and FBMACE increased 2.46 points to 5,287.60.

Top gainers for the early trading session are Aurelius Technologies Bhd, Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd, PPB Group Bhd, Nestle (Malaysia) Bhd, and KESM Industries Bhd. 

Top losers comprise Allianz Malaysia Bhd, Heineken Malaysia Bhd, Chin Teck Plantations Bhd, Malayan Cement Bhd and Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd.
