KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia picked up momentum in morning trade closing higher on strong buying interest.
At lunch break, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was up 1.72 points to 1,447.81 from 1,446.09 at Friday's close.
The key index trended between a low of 1,445.14 and high of 1,449.24.
FBM100 was up to 13.39 points to 110,360.92, FBMEMAS rose up to 14.08 points to 10,675.64, and FBMHIJRA also climbed 36.09 points to 11,667.15.
The FBM ACE was in the red however as it slid down 35.29 points to 5,228.85 points.
On the broader market, losers outnumbered gainers, 474 to 346 while 411 remained unchanged.
