KUALA LUMPUR: Tesla has announced its best-seling all-electric Model Y sports utility vehicle is now available for booking in Malaysia.
The prices of Model Y range from RM199,000 to RM288,000, Tesla said today ahead of the company's launch in the country on July 20.
Model Y comes in three trims, consisting of Model Y (rear-wheel drive), Model Y Long Range and Model Y Performance.
The company said the delivery is expected to start early next year.
Tesla said the mid-size SUV is a combination of range, performance, safety and technology that carries over 2,100 litres of cargo space and seating for up to five passengers.
"With ultra-responsive motors, it only takes 3.7 seconds for the Model Y to accelerate from 0 to 100km per hour, with a range of up to 533 km (WLTP) per charge.
"Model Y comes with an all-glass roof, autopilot, active safety features, and a HEPA air filtration system," it said.
Tesla also highlighted that Tesla owners can claim individual income tax relief of up to RM2,500 on expenses related to the cost of installation, rental, purchase, including hire-purchase equipment or subscription fees for electric vehicles (EV) charging facilities, for year 2023's assessment.
Tesla owners can also enjoy full import and excise duty exemption for newly-registered Tesla EV (completely built-up electric vehicles) with 100 per cent road tax exemption.
This is part of the effort to support the country's national agenda in promoting the adoption of low-carbon mobility and development of electric vehicles (EV) industry.
