KUALA LUMPUR: The newly elected Pakatan Harapan (PH) government has leaders who are experienced in managing the nation’s economy, Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah said.
Speaking to NST Business at the conclusion of the oil and gas (O&G) engineering firm’s annual general meeting today, he expressed confidence that PH can maintain investors confidence moving forward.
“Prime Minister Tun Mahathir Mohamad was the one who built national O&G firm Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) from the ground up to the domestic and international success story it is today,” Abdul Karim said.
He noted that Dr Mahathir and most of his team are already proven administrators and have helped built Malaysia to what it is today.
“As it is early days yet, we believe that the market will remain cautious over the short term but confidence will build further with time. This new government might be new, but the people running it are very experienced and capable.”
Pakatan Harapan last week created history when it won the 14th General Election (GE14), ending Barisan Nasional’s record of 61 years in government.
In a press conference following the victory, Dr Mahathir said he will ensure to keep Malaysia as business friendly as possible.
Serba Dinamik is a not a goverment linked company and as such, the results of the GE14 has no impact on its business proceedings or financial standing.
