RAMALLAH, Palestinian Territories: Six people were killed early Sunday during an Israeli raid in Jenin in the occupied West Bank.

"An Israeli occupation bombardment on a group of citizens killed six people in Jenin," said the Palestinian Ministry of Health, which is based in the West Bank.

The official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported early Sunday that a major deployment of Israeli forces was under way in Jenin.

Violence has intensified in the West Bank.

At least 327 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank since the conflict broke out.

The town of Jenin and its refugee camp have been the scene of repeated Israeli raids.
