The gunman killed 14 people in the worst-ever civilian mass killing in the central European country where many hold guns, some of them sports or hunting rifles, but mass shootings are rare.
Police said the 24-year-old student of the arts faculty where he carried out the attack likely shot himself after police cornered him on a balcony.
