MANILA: A man was arrested for filming a woman without her consent and posting it on social media with sexist remarks in Pasig city recently.

The arrest by the Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) saw the 34-year-old truck driver apprehended at his residence in Barangay Pineda on Thursday evening, the Philstar.com reported.

ACG director Brigadier General Bowenn Joey Masauding said the suspect was in the midst of watching the video when he was nabbed by the raiding party.

Investigations revealed the suspect took a video of the victim, a 19-year-old woman, while she was having her morning exercise in front of a convenience store in Barangay Ugong the same day.

Masauding said the suspect then posted the video on his Facebook account with a caption implying a lewd act.

The victim was surprised when she learned that a video of her made rounds online. She and her friend subsequently reported the incident to the ACG.

"We would like to remind the public to be circumspect and cautious in using their mobile gadgets," Masauding said in a statement on Sunday.

He also reminded the public not to take videos and photographs of other people without their consent.

The suspect is being held for on going investigations on charges of violation of the Safe Spaces Act and the Cybercrime Prevention Act.
