GEORGE TOWN: Telekom Malaysia's (TM) Unifi TV today launched the Extraordinary Tour at Gurney Plaza Mall here, bringing exciting interactive experiences to communities in the northern region.

The event celebrates Unifi's three-million-subscriber milestone.

The achievement reflects Unifi's commitment to accelerate digital inclusion and support the country's Jalinan Digital Negara (Jendela) aspirations.

TM's chief commercial officer and Unifi's executive vice-president Anand Vijayan said Extraordinary Tour and special offerings in December are their way of appreciating customers for their support and trust.

Vijayan said: "As we continue to enable today's digital lifestyles, Unifi TV's Extraordinary Tour is an opportunity to personally interact with local communities and tap into how we can curate new and innovative solutions to suit their needs.

"Together with content partners, we are pleased to launch this tour in Penang and connect with customers in the northern region — where we hope to provide our offerings for fixed broadband, mobile services and entertainment content to more Malaysians," he added.

The event, which runs until Dec 4, boasts digital experiences and highlights leading content providers and streaming apps available on Unifi TV, such as Disney+ Hotstar, beIN SPORTS, BBC, iQIYI, Lionsgate Play, WeTV and Warner TV & Boomerang.

Residents in Penang and the Klang Valley saw Unifi's #BoxOfHappiness unveiled at several locations, such as Gurney Plaza Mall, Taman Tasik Permaisuri, Berjaya Times Square, Setia City Mall and Avenue K.

After teasing passers-by with the mysterious boxes since Nov 30, Unifi finally opened them and revealed the suite of offerings on Unifi TV.

The Extraordinary Tour by Unifi TV will go to the southern and central regions of the country in the following months. It will showcase engaging experiences such as Disney+ Hotstar's Kids Corner, beIN SPORTS's subsoccer competition, BBC's 360-degree spin camera and Lionsgate Play's Nerf Ambush.

Visitors will have the opportunity to capture photographs with their favourite characters.

There will also be exciting performances and meet-and-greet opportunities with celebrities like Masdo, Talitha, Shawn Lee, as well as the stars of iQIYI's 'Sorry Naik Lorry' programme — Nazim Othman and Ruhainies.

Unifi customers stand a chance of receiving unique merchandise when they participate in activities at the content partners' booths or during stage appearances.

Speaking about their plans for the future, Vijayan said: "In the coming year, we will continue to boost our digital services, growing our content base to include more premium local and international channels and partners.

"We will also strengthen our fixed-mobile converged solutions and serve as a one-stop partner for all connectivity and lifestyle needs, reinforcing our commitment to enable a digital Malaysia."
