KUALA LUMPUR: Muay Thai fighter Johan Ghazali Zulfikar is set to fight in his first event in the United States under ONE Championship.
The 17-year-old has been included in the ONE 168: Denver fight card, where he will face off against Josue Cruz of Mexico at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, on Sept 6.
All of Johan's previous ONE fights had been held in Thailand.
The flyweight bout is set to be an interesting one, as Johan just had his unbeaten record in ONE ended by Vietnam's Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat at ONE 167 in Bangkok last month.
Johan's mother is American, and his father is Malaysian.
Cruz had gone 17-0 prior to joining ONE, but lost his first two fights in the series to Sean Climaco (the US) and Walter Goncalves (Brazil).
The 28-year-old has been working hard to improve his game and recently trained in France alongside Alexis Nicolas, who is the ONE lightweight kickboxing world champion, and Elias Mahmoudi.
