KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's Hanssen Yap qualified for the boys' 100m final in the Asian Under-20 Athletic Championships in Dubai on Wednesday.

He won the semi-final two by posting 10.56s.

South Korean Kim Jeongyun was second (10.58) and Lebanon's Andrew Danny was third (10.76).

Malaysian Dexter Bedie clocked 10.85 and finished fifth in the first semi-final.

In the girls' 100m, Malaysia's Izzatul Musfirah Ahmad Kamal Azira clocked 12.73 to finish fourth in the first semi-final and Ormilla Octavia Codday Nyadau ran 12.46 to finish fourth in the second semi-final. Both failed to advance to the 100m final.

Pengiran Aidil Auf Hajam and Sayyid Amin Roslan both qualified for the boys' 200m semi-finals.

Pengiran clocked 21.61 to finish second in heat four while Sayyid clocked 21.55 to finish fourth in heat one.

Khalil Helmi clocked a personal best of 48.09 in the 400m to finish fourth in heat one.
